Two Knox County students have been awarded Edna Tague Community Service Scholarships by the Knox County RSVP Advisory Council.   Laura Turney, a Lincoln High School graduate, and Graham Chattin, a graduate of South Knox High School, each received $750.  Laura is the daughter of Steve and Lorinda Turney of Vincennes.  Graham’s parents are Ray and Susan Chattin of  Decker.  Both will be freshmen at Vincennes University this fall.

A retired school teacher and world traveler, Edna Tague worked as an RSVP volunteer most of her retired life.  She brought a positive attitude and enthusiasm to every project and was often described as “the perfect volunteer.”  Her generous gift to Knox County RSVP also helps provide educational programs such as Kids Read, Kids Write and Little Elves Workshop which have been designated as “Tague programs.”

The Tague scholarship is based on the community service exhibited by the student, not by financial need or grade point average.  Two scholarships are given out each year to Knox County students enrolled at Vincennes University.
