Every day, the YMCA of Vincennes serves as a gathering place for our community. Kids pour in after school to play and do homework. Seniors meet for bingo, group activities and to connect with one another. Families learn water safety during swim lessons. Adults better their health and well-being. To ensure that the Y can continue to provide Knox County residents with life enhancing services, the YMCA of Vincennes is launching its annual One Y for All campaign.
As a leading nonprofit for strengthening community, financial gifts to the Y help advance programming and services that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. More importantly, gifts to the YMCA of Vincennes make a direct impact on residents right here in Knox County.
Last year, financial support made it possible for more than 400 kids to have a safe place to learn and build confidence; for 70 families to reconnect and grow together; and provided for more than 80,000 rides on VanGo for low income, disabled or other community members without their own transportation.
“We all need the Y. Our association works every day to nurture the potential of kids, improve health and well-being and help neighbors support one another,” said Jennifer Holscher, Membership Director, YMCA of Vincennes. “With our One Y for All campaign, we want our community to understand that the Y is more than where to go to exercise or swim – and that the Y depends on donated financial support to do our vital work.”
This year, the YMCA of Vincennes hopes to raise $100,000 to match its 100th year of service to the community. Funds raised provide direct membership financial assistance for children, families and adults. Funds also subsidize costs for programs including soccer, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, swimming and dance for low income families.
