Knox County Community Foundation Funds

GAKCI Workshop in September

The Knox County Community Foundation awarded $1,000 to the Grant Association of Knox County Indiana, Inc. (GAKCI) to fund an all-day grant writing and proposal development workshop designed for all experience levels on Tuesday, September 21.

A series of one-hour seminars will include Budgeting, Proposal Writing (Beginning & Advanced), Post-Award Reports, Federal Grants and Grant Resources.   The workshop will feature Jamie Levy, President of JDLevy & Associates, an organizational development consulting and training firm, as the keynote speaker.  Indiana Youth Institute instructors, GAKCI Board members and local grant writers will lead the sessions.

“GAKCI is excited to provide quality presenters, both state and local, to enhance the grantsmanship skills of local community organizations,” said Judith Kratzner, GAKCI Education Committee Chair.  “The workshop is designed to address different levels of grant writing experience as well as agency-appropriate funding resources.  Add to this an opportunity to network, and value is enhanced for all participants.”

The workshop will take place at the Vincennes University campus in the ICAT building starting at 9:00 a.m.  The cost for participants is $25, and includes lunch and a Grantsmanship book.  To register, contact the YMCA at 812-895-9622 or e-mail info@gakci.orgThe deadline for registration is Friday, September 17.  For more information, please visit www.gakci.org
