Theresa M. Harmening Theresa M. Harmening, 51, of Bicknell, IN formerly of Greenwood, IN passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Hospital at 7:25 a.m. She was born December 1, 1959 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of Charles W. Sr. and Wilma L. Dukes Harmening. She was employed in the food service industry and held membership in the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Bicknell, IN. She loved bowling and sharing time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Robert W. Harmening of Bicknell, IN, Andrea Dawn Harmening of Rockville, IN, her life partner, Robert W. Cowin of Bicknell, IN, her grandchildren, Jordan H. Tinkle, Abigail Tinkle, Brandon M. Harmening and Lilyan K. Harmening. Her parents, Charles W. & Wilma L. Harmening of Franklin, IN, her brothers, Charles W. “Bill” Harmening Jr. of Whiteland, IN, Terry Davis of Bicknell, Robert Davis of Bicknell, Paul Davis of Indianapolis, IN. Her sisters, Julia Lynn Tinkle of Franklin, IN, Annie Reynolds of Greenwood, IN, Geraldine White of Bicknell, IN, Jane White of Bicknell, IN, Wanda Filbert of Bicknell, IN and Mari Davis Chambers of Bicknell, IN. She was preceded in death by 2 children and a brother Leonard Davis. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday December 26, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Pilgrim Holiness Church by Rev. Maurice Roll officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Pilgrim Holiness Church. Louise Clara Reitmeyer Louise Clara Reitmeyer, 93, of Vincennes, passed away Friday December 24, 2010 at Gentle Care Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was born October 22, 1917 in Vincennes, the daughter of Ernest W. and Emma (Struckmeyer) Schulze and has been a resident of this area her entire life. Louise attended St. John's Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in the Class of 1937. She had been employed in the meat department of Kroger Grocery Store for 13 years. She worshiped at the St. John's Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Missionary Society of the church. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post # 73 and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post # 1157. She had served as a Pink Lady at Good Samaritan Hospital and a volunteer for R.S.V.P. Louise is survived by one sister, Kate Thomas of Phoenix, Arizona and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank L. Snyder, whom she married April 2, 1941, he passed away October 8, 1978 and by her second husband, William Reitmeyer, whom she married October 28, 1983 and he passed away April 4, 1985. She was also preceded in death by one son, two daughters and 1 brother. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday December 27 at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ron Maxwell officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church for one hour prior to the service. Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Sharon Marie Dunn Sharon Marie Dunn, 71, Vincennes, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec., 24, 2010, at the Lodge of the Wabash. She was born in Knox County on Oct. 18, 1939, the daughter of Lyman and Olive Sanders Duke. She was married to Jerry Dunn and he preceded her in death in 1990. She was an LPN at Lodge of the Wabash and for many years at Crestview and Plainfield Health Care. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and ABWA VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Moose Auxiliary. Surviving are three sons, Jerry and Sherry Dunn of Vincennes, Jeffery and Barbara Dunn of Idaho, and Charles and Tammy Dunn of Bicknell; a daughter, Shawna Dunn and Kenny Rippey of Vincennes; two sisters, Gwendolyn Vincent of Vincennes and Barbara Heines of Vincennes; a brother, Jack and Nancy Dukes of Newport Richie, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, two brothers and a grandson. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Jason Gries officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Monroe City. Jerome J. Wolfe Jerome J. Wolfe of Indianapolis, formally of Vincennes died at his home in Indianapolis of complication of Alzheimer’s. He was preceded in death by his father August Wolfe, and his mother Lillian, three brothers, August Jr., Carl, and Jim. Jerome was born November 1, 1929 in Vincennes Indiana. He married Anita Davis on June 6, 1953. They had five children together. Jerry, (Cindy) of Indianapolis, Mark of Tampa, FL, Jeff of Pensacola, FL, Karen of Terre Haute, IN, Lisa Schloneger, (Kevin) of Indianapolis. Six grandchildren, Sarah Wolfe, Eric Wolfe, Marie Schloneger, Nolan Schloneger, McGuire Wolfe, Bridgette Wolfe. Jerome is also survived by two sisters, Monica of California, and Frieda of Oakland City, Indiana. Mr. Wolfe was a Korean War veteran spending four years in active duty. He is a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus. He worked as an IBEW electrician starting in 1962 and retired as the owner of Wolfe Electric in 2000. He was very active in the Old Cathedral Parish where he sang in the choir and played the harmonica. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday December 28, 2010 at Old Cathedral Parish. Roger Dale Eaden Roger Dale Eaden, 78, of 3758 N. Camp Arthur Rd. Vincennes, went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2010. Roger was born January 20, 1932 in Ohio County, Kentucky to Carley Burl and Loretta Ester (Renfrow) Eaden. Roger and Nelda moved to Vincennes in 1964 where they belonged to the First Baptist Church. Roger had served as a deacon, trustee, and was instrumental in building the new church. He retired as substation maintenance supervisor from Public Service Indiana after 38 years of service. He was a avid hunter belonging to the N.R.A. and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Three Rivers chapter where he was a founding committee member. Roger loved to garden and every year he planted the garden of Eaden. He loved to do carpentry work where he served many people. He was a charter member of the Vincennes Township Fire Department and belonged to the Indiana Volunteer Fireman Association. He served his country in the Korean War. You could often find Roger at McDonald’s drinking coffee. Most importantly, he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving is his wife, Nelda (Hastings) Eaden, whom he married February 27, 1954, three daughters, Deb (Louie) Eddleman of Vincennes, Tricia “Pat” (Larry ) West of Vincennes, and Dana (Bob) Lay, formerly of Vincennes, and a sister, Imogene Brown of Belton, Kentucky. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Randy Eddleman, Marcie (Scott) Diedorf, Caleb Eddleman, Carley Eddleman, Katy Ingram, Brett (Paige) West, Aaron (Danielle) West, Seth West, Renee Lay, and Katie Lay, great grandchildren, Dominique Eddleman, Kayden Eddleman, Jaylen Dierdorf, Madison Foreman, Camron Eddleman, Kaytilynn Ingram, Emma Eddleman, Kayleigh Ingram, Lucy Thacker, Brody West, and Natalie West, along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding Roger in death was his parents, two sisters, Mary Jarris, Aretha Horn, one brother, Ralph Eaden, and a grandchild, Elizabeth Renee Lay. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday December 28, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Clemens officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Vaunda E. Fischer Vaunda E. Fischer peacefully completed her journey of faith Dec. 22, 2010. She was born in Augusta, IN on Sept. 17, 1913 to Roscoe and Mable Tooley. She married Raymond H. Fischer, August 4, 1932. Her husband, Raymond; parents Roscoe and Mable Tooley; a brother, Cornelius Tooley; and her son John’s companion, Bill Loveless, preceded her. Surviving are her children, Raymond L. (& Joyce) Fischer of Haubstadt, IN, Phillip M. Fischer, Cynthia S. (& Dr. Glenn) Ross, and John L. Fischer, all of Vincennes, IN; a brother, Adam (& Lynn) Tooley of Sebring, FL; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two nephews and five nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. David Fleck at 11 a.m. EST at St. John Catholic Church in Vincennes, on Thursday, Dec. 23. The family will receive friends from 10 –11 on Thursday, at the church. Her final resting place will be by her husband in St. Joseph Cemetery in Princeton. Nila Kay Manning Nila Kay Manning, 52, of Vincennes, passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville. She was born April 13, 1958, in Vincennes, the daughter of Kenneth and Betty Joan (Lucas) Arthur. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Desiree Holland of Vincennes; sister, Lisa O’Dell of Creal Springs, IL; brother Troy Manning; and grandchildren, Kay-Leigh Holland, Jacqueline Davis and Khyreal Holland. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held Tuesday, December 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. with Rev. Ray Tromley officiating. Merle G. Ruh Merle G. Ruh, 84, of Vincennes, passed away at 5:56 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 28, 1926, in Britton, South Dakota, the son of Ervin and Julia (Swinson) Ruh. Merle had worked as a bank manager and for a Title Company all out in California. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bruceville Rod & Gun Club and the VFW. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Survivors include his daughter, Cathy (& Raymond) Cantwell of Vincennes; brother, Charles E. Ruh of Clairmont, CA and grandchildren, Michele Campbell and Douglas Cantwell. Preceding Merle in death were his parent; wife, Jean (Fernandez) Ruh who passed away in 2000, and his grandchild, Christopher Campbell. Memorial services will be held Monday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. with Rev. Dan Clemens officiating. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Juanita Ann (Minderman) “Mindy” Meyer Juanita Ann (Minderman) “Mindy” Meyer, 82, Vincennes, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital with her family at her bedside. Juanita was born on September 30, 1928 into a St. Thomas farm family. Her parents were William Guy and Louise Goehring Minderman. In 1942 at the age of 14 she met Darvin Dale “D. D.” Meyer who was 16 at a 4-H camp held at Shakamak State Park. She married D. D. Meyer on January 1, 1950, enjoying 49 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1999. Juanita attended elementary school in St. Thomas, graduated from Decker Chapel High School and completed nurses training at the Good Samaritan School of Nursing becoming an R.N. in 1949. She worked as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years and helped open the Health Office there for hospital employees. Continuing her work as a nurse, she worked for Doctors Ewing, Vonderleith, and Tolbert in their offices during the1960s. Juanita also worked in her husband’s office, the D. D. Meyer Realty and Auction Company, for many years. In 1980 she and D.D. moved to San Diego, California for seventeen years, returning to Indiana in 1997. “Back home in Indiana” in her retirement years she worked for a brief time at the Good Samaritan Hospital Gift Shop and as a volunteer in the hospital. In 1998 she worked for the Student Activities Center at Vincennes University. Later in the same building she worked for Dr. Razi, the Vincennes University International Student Advisor, where she tremendously enjoyed working with the international students. She was an avid Vincennes University Trailblazer Basketball fan, never missing a home game. While her children were growing up, she attended St. John’s United Church of Christ in Vincennes. In California she attended The Mission San Diego de Alcala Catholic Church in San Diego where ceremoniously on December 17, 1985 she received a certificate and medal blessed by Pope John Paul II for voluntarily serving as sacristan for The Mission. This was an honor bestowed on very few women and she was extremely proud of that recognition. After she returned from California she regularly attended the Old Cathedral Catholic Church where her brother, Earl, attended. In the past few years she enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends, spending time on her computer, visiting St. Thomas, and caring for her cat Siam. Juanita loved animals and gave them great care. She was a sweet, caring mother and a good friend, showing kindness to all. She believed in the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” (Luke 6:31). She is survived by her daughter, Jan Henry and husband, Bill Henry of Vincennes, daughter Linda and her husband John Coleman of San Diego, California and son Dennis and wife Valerie Meyer of Littleton, Colorado; her grandchildren, William Guy Henry, and Gregory Meyer; brothers-in-law L. Frank Meyer of Vincennes and Jim Dyer of Carthage, Indiana; sisters-in-law Verna Meyer of Vincennes and Marva Lee Dyer of Carthage, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother, Earl Minderman of Lawrenceville, Illinois and a granddaughter, Ali Meyer of Littleton, Colorado. V isitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 21 at Frederick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Vincennes Chapel, 313 Church Street with the vigil beginning at 7 p.m. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 22 beginning at 10 a.m. at The Old Cathedral in Vincennes. Gloria Jean (Fry) Reeves Gloria Jean (Fry) Reeves, 62, Vincennes, died at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at Bridge Pointe Health Campus. She was born Aug. 23, 1948 in Vincennes, the daughter of Charles and Fern (Stroud) Fry. She married Darrell Reeves Sr. on June 18, 1971 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 2007. She was a housekeeper at the Executive Inn, a cook at Vincennes University and Tasty Treat, and an inspector for Custom Circuit Kraft. Surviving are two sons, Darrell Reeves Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, and Jeff Whipps of Pendleton; two grandchildren, Jamesolyn Hearsey of Michigan and Jeffrey Whipps II of Indiana; a sister-in-law, Nancy and Chet Eisenhut of Vincennes; two brothers-in-law, James and Janice Reeves of Vincennes and Bud and Susie Reeves of Vincennes; and several nieces and nephews of which one she was particularly close to, Charles Hess of Vincennes. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters, Sherry Hess and Brenda Fry. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel, the Rev. William Morris officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
